Welcome Message
Aloha AAES Families,
Welcome to School Year 2026–2027!
On behalf of the faculty and staff, I am excited to welcome all returning and new families to another wonderful year at August Ahrens Elementary School. We look forward to working together to provide every student with a positive, safe, and engaging learning experience.
At AAES, we remain committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated teachers and staff work hard each day to create meaningful learning opportunities that encourage critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and character development. We believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success, and we sincerely appreciate your continued support.
We also want to thank our families for supporting our school activities and fundraisers throughout the year. Your generosity helps provide enrichment opportunities, schoolwide events, grade-level projects, and activities that enhance the educational experience for all students.
Please join me in recognizing our outstanding teachers and support staff. Their dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for our students make August Ahrens Elementary School a special place to learn and grow. Whether working directly with students or supporting operations behind the scenes, every staff member plays an important role in our school community.
We are also grateful for the continued support of our community partners, including Senator Rachele Lamosao, Representative Daisy Hartsfield, Councilmember Augie Tulba, the PTO, Bethel Chapel, Waipahu McDonald’s, and the Honolulu Police Department (Community Police and Weed and Seed). Their partnership and commitment to our students are greatly appreciated.
As we begin this new school year, I encourage families to continue fostering a love of learning at home. Reading together, discussing current events, exploring new interests, and encouraging curiosity all contribute to student success. Literacy remains one of the most important foundations for lifelong learning, and regular reading can strengthen vocabulary, comprehension, communication skills, and critical thinking.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We look forward to a successful and rewarding school year filled with learning, growth, and achievement.
Have a wonderful school year!
Mahalo,
Hanh Nguyen
Principal
