August Ahrens Elementary is a K-6 school located on the island of Oahu in the historic sugar plantation town of Waipahu, Hawaii. This school was named after the first manager of Oahu Sugar Company, Mr. August Ahrens. The administration building and fourteen classrooms were built on three-fourths of an acre, and August Ahrens opened its doors to 605 students and 13 teachers on September 1, 1924. Currently, the school spans 14 acres, comprising 10 buildings and 26 portable classrooms, with nearly 1200 students and 200 faculty and staff members, making it one of the largest single-track elementary schools in the state.
