Afterschool Enrichment Program (AEP)

About Us:

The purpose of the AAES Afterschool Enrichment Program (AEP) is to provide students with a supportive environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth. We hope this program will enable our students to explore new interests, build meaningful friendships, and develop into confident, compassionate members of the August Ahrens Elementary community.

  1. When your child’s program ends, they must be promptly picked up (before 3:30 pm), leave school grounds (if walking or catching the bus), or attend the YMCA A+ program. If you pick up your child by car, pick them up at the first circle.

  2. Failure to pick up your child on time after three (3) occasions will result in the child’s dismissal from the program.

  3. We do not provide childcare services for non-participants of the AEP program. Please make arrangements for any other siblings or family members who are not officially part of the program.

  4. AAES AEP are supplemental activities. Participation is voluntary, and additional services, including those determined by IEPs, are not provided through this program.
  1. Students must maintain markings in the General Learner Outcomes (GLOs).

  2. Students must follow all school rules as outlined in the student planner.

  3. Students must attend after-school classes regularly.
    1. Four (4) unexcused absences may result in dismissal from the program.

  4. Students must complete an application form, which should be filled out and approved by the parent/guardian(s) and homeroom teacher.

  5. Students must have health insurance.
